Preston, Amy, and Jacinta joined in on the fun. This was Amy's longest ride ever and killed it! She was on her Bilenky which I was riding up until now. It is a heavy bike, but that didn't slow her down one bit!
This was literally the FIRST ride on my new bike. Also a Bilenky. For the first time ever out on a ride of distance, I got a flat. Not one, but 4 flats. 3 fronts and 1 rear. Other than that, the bike felt great. The 46/30 up front with an 11-32 cassette worked wonders. Now if only I can keep from getting flats on these otherwise great Grand Bois. The new ride(using borrowed for now 32 spoke tough road wheels) weighed in at 22lbs. Meaning my goal weight of 25lbs or less rando bike will happen.
I love the Lucas Valley route. It is always fun and knowing it helps a lot in terms of no cue sheet needed.
We finished in good time and joined in on the wonderful picnic that follows the pop ride. SFR really are the best club. Many thanks to the volunteers!
Otherwise, my plans are to just keep logging miles and do as many brevets as I can this upcoming year. The two big goals are the FL 1200k and PBP!
