slept between a fenced in wine orchard and a park building.

not a bad morning view.

we then drove to downtown cloverdale to a great coffee shop basically across the street from the starting point of the ride. i downed a vegan bran apricot muffin and two glasses of earl grey. also, half of my orgain shake.
presto and i were the last to take off and wouldn’t catch most of the group until we got to further controls.
the weather was great for the ride. we went through sonoma and followed the russian river to the coast. i can’t get enough of the redwoods and the central/northern california coast. once we came inland from the coast, the heat got HOT. i was cooking.
overall i think i did pretty good finishing in somewhere around 11 hours. my back and butt were super sore towards the end, but i was riding strong enough having spent the entire day on my bike. with a missed turn we ended up riding closer to the 130 mile mark.
products consumed during this ride: skratch(which i found out i dont really like), nuun, probar, builder bar, shot blocks, cliff caffeine gel, vega gel, random 4 bean salad, h20, chocolate and some killer daves sin dawg!
we crossed paths with a tri race. one of their water station personnel yelled at us to “get out of the way of the cyclist”…

the california coast.

surf and a small bay.

randbros and a tourer. ca1.

amy post hike and me post ride. enjoying fried food at shangri-la in the sunset district.
